Gala Primitive River Front Campground is located about 1/2 mile from the Gala boat landing just off State Route 220. It is situated about 25 miles upstream of our Buchanan canoe livery location near river mile marker 51. This campground can accommodate both paddle in and drive in campers. It is about a 25 minute drive from our Buchanan livery location. Each of the 11 campsites are numbered and include a fire ring, picnic table, parking area, and level tent pad. Portable toilets and a dumpster are conveniently located in the center of the campground. There is no power, or water at any of the sites. Home of the legendary fairy stones, this park is well known for its 168-acre lake adjoining Philpott Reservoir. The park is just minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway. Attractions include cabins, a campground, group camping, an equestrian campground, a conference center, hiking trails, lake swimming, rowboats, canoes, paddle boats, kayaks, picnicking and two playgrounds, including one in the water. Chantilly Farm is the perfect place to pitch your tent or set up your RV while visiting our part of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Our beautiful 200+ acre outdoor venue is located only 6 miles from Downtown Floyd and near the Blue Ridge Parkway and Crooked Road Heritage Music Trail. Primitive tent camping is available any time of year for a cost of $15 per night. No open fires are allowed. Pets must remained leashed and must remain at your campsite, particularly on days that events are going on at the venue. Potable water is available on site. It is situated about 6 river miles downstream of our Buchanan based canoe livery location near river mile marker 19. This campground can accommodate both paddle in and drive in campers. Each site is numbered and include a fire ring, picnic table, parking area, and level tent pad. Portable toilets and a dumpster are conveniently located in the center of the campground.
