Roanoke Valley Children’s Choir

Under the direction of Kimberly R. Davidson, the Roanoke College Children’s Choir was started in 1987. The current choir is made up of more than 270 children, divided into three training choirs and a concert choir. Choir members, ranging in age from 8 to 18, are chosen through auditions in May of each year, and are from throughout the Roanoke Valley and surrounding communities. Choir members receive a musical experience designed to develop and encourage personal and musical growth. This challenging program of voice and choral repertoire demands dedication and discipline from its young members. This commitment to excellence has resulted in an impressive resume for the Children’s Choir, including a joint concert with the United States Army Band, being chosen twice as the Official Choir of the National Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, being a featured choir at Carnegie Hall, and being a participating choir at the Pacific Rim Festival in Hawaii.
